St. Lukes dinners.jpg

St. John Chrysostom said, “If you cannot find Christ in the beggar at the church door, you will not find him in the chalice.” One of the primary ways we love God is by serving Christ in all people. We try to follow in the footsteps of Jesus by reaching out to those in great need.

  • St. Barnabas sponsors the Bay Family Education and Support Group for families of those struggling with the disease of addiction.

  • We are constantly collecting items for distribution at St. Luke’s in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood of Cleveland. Volunteers from St. Barnabas help staff St. Luke’s pantry and, once a month, serve a free dinner to local residents.

  • St. Barnabas partners with other local congregations to provide mission opportunities for adults and teens. In 2019 we are working in nearby Lorain on home repairs, meals for those in need, and a community garden.

  • Our Youth Garden provides fresh produce for local pantries.
